Xpand Programs
Most people are like sheep! Remember this throughout your coaching journey in Xpand. The more clear you make a path, and the more tight you put the fences the easier it is to herd them.
Too often people talk about coaching and consulting but they have no system to plug people into. That is ok when first starting out, but the faster you realize how important it is to create duplicatable results and give clear deliverables you will find your life gets much easier, repeatable, and you can handle a heck of a lot more clients. Also when looking to develop future leaders or coaches under you, programs give you something to train on, and have your leaders follow for helping the lives they are leading.
My recommendation is to design a program right now as you read this. Give your program a name. Examples:
- 6 Weeks to Great
- Fast start program
- Thompson Mastery Program
- Level Up System
These are just basic examples of something you can now refer to. Now it’s time to put the components of what is in the program. Whether you are in management of a team within an enterprise company, or you are selling private coaching or consulting, I would highly recommend doing this and implementing it right away.
Programs are designed systems to follow for your people. These can consist of things such as:
- One on One Calls
- Group Calls
- Courses
- Events
- Resources
- Assignments
- Goals
- Challenges
- Groups and Networks
- Special Privileges or access
For Example I have an “Xperts Circle Mastermind.” It’s a 12 month min program for CEO’s and Leaders looking to level up. This wasn’t a sequential program, it was just here is all the components you get throughout the year, use what you like. They got:
- Quarterly Deep Dives (2 Day Live Event)
- 1 International Leadership Development Trip
- 1 Ticket to our Bi-Annual Summits
- 1 VIP ticket to our yearly national convention D2DCON
- 1 Group Leadership Call per month
- 2 National Group Sales Calls per month
- 1 Pod Accountability Call per month
- Access to my Online Platform
- Access to private group
- 50% off all additional Event Tickets
It is really easy for me now to deliver a very good experience because I can track what people have used, and what people are getting or not. I don’t have to come up with something each time I sell a client, and remember who got what.
This approach we can call a more “Cookie Cutter” Coaching style. It is all about putting people in your system, and making it scalable. They don’t have to be as expansive as mine, and can be as simple as:
Name: DeAnna’s Coaching Program
- 1 Call every other week 30 mins
- Weekly Check In
- Access to XYZ Course
Whether you are selling your program or it is free, I would highly map this out in the app Xpand, or make a simple image that shows what you are offering. Another best practice would be mapping out phases of your program, like milestones on a journey. We call this sequential programs.
Sequential Program:
In consulting I had a 5 Phase 12 month program with a master Excel sheet that tracked the progress of each component of each phase. There were about 10 systems per phase we looked to implement or audit within the company. We would go through and prioritize them and work through getting through the whole list over the year. I knew that if I could get through 80-100% of those systems, and training I wanted to touch on, we would have a massive success rate. I would also have checkpoints built in where I would check on the implementation and execution progress of systems I had implemented from a few months back. This accountability showed that it wasn’t about just getting through my program but optimizing each component of it. It wasn’t always about speed, it was about execution.
Everyone has a different capacity of execution. Some people will be able to pick things up super fast, and others need to move at a much slower pace. Be open to that, and don’t force too much on your mentees too fast because they will be overwhelmed trying to juggle too many objectives, and most likely fail doing the main priorities well.
Make visuals to show what the journey may look like.
This will help your client or mentee see where they are today and where they want to get to. If you can keep them updated on their progression through this journey that is key, because it is always motivating to someone when they feel advancement. They love feeling the recognition moving from one phase to the next phase. You may even want to put in rewards or achievements based on them accomplishing phases. Again the advancement of unlocking phases creates “Free Energy.”
Another great use case for this is when consulting companies I found creating a program for their new hires was a super powerful thing we always implemented. This would help the new employee to the company get trained fast, and integrated to the team. They would know what to follow and it automated most of the work.
If using the Xpand app this is layed out super easy when you go in and create a program. It will ask you if you want it to be a sequential program Y/N? If you pick yes you will then map out your phases.
A Xpand Program can consist of:
- Courses
- Assignments
- Goals
- Objects
- Events
- Calls
- Sessions
- Gifts
- Documents
- References
- Team
Let’s map out a simple program for you new employees to follow for example with phases:
Program Name: 30 Days to Pro
- Phase 1:
- Introductory Course 1 (Use Course Icons)
- Upload all onboarding documents (Assignment)
- Goal Setting One-on-one with Manager (Object)
- Phase 2:
- Basics of Selling Course
- Intro to Product Course
- Attend Bootcamp (Object)
- Set First Appointment (Achievement Goal)
- Upload Video Pitch (assignment)
- New Hire Survey (Assignment)
- Phase 3
- Advance Selling Course
- Set Selling Goals (Assignment)
- Sell First Account (Achievement Goal)
- Manager Pitch Pass off (Assignment)
Are you getting the picture now?
This will help you track your people’s progress and accomplishments as they move through preset milestones. They can wake up and know what, when and where they should be focusing. There aren’t any questions asked on how to be successful. You have clearly mapped things out prior to them starting, instead of throwing them to the wolves.
You can do this with your employees as you are developing them into new positions. You can use this for onboarding new customers, or clients. Programs work for masterminds, clubs, communities to follow. Get creative with this, and as you dial in your program you will attract more people. Most people are looking for a program to follow and the coaches and managers that have them clearly outlined rise to the top, stand out, and can demand more respect and money.
